Design an outdoor learning space for your school to WIN!
Ingleside State School
How would you create an outdoor learning space at your school with Grillex products?
Ingleside State School is a small school with an enrolment of 113 students. Set in the beautiful Tallebudgera Valley, Ingleside has a long history of environmental learning and care, by the students, staff and parent body.
Ingleside State School has an ideal under utilised open area for an outdoor learning space. Surrounded by nature, the school has an existing native bee and Richmond Birdwing butterfly garden (Endangered species), vegetable beds, fruit trees and Tallebudgera Creek adjacent to the planned Ingleside Outdoor Learning Space.
With a shelter and several informal clusters of seating our successful grant will help us to transform the area into a whole of school asset. The area will be used by teachers and students for both formal and informal learning.
We envisage the space lending itself to teachers assisting the students’ interaction and creativity, directly with nature. Whether it be hands on, observation for Science or inspiration for Creative Writing, or learning about any aspect of the environment, through any chosen subject, such as Geography, Maths or HASS.
The space will be particularly useful for special needs students who struggle within the formal learning environment.
Senior students will have access to the Ingleside Outdoor Learning Space during class and break time, to facilitate focus groups, individual learning and study, where they are needing a quiet environment, aside from the regular outdoor play and learning spaces.
